Five for Friday 6.24.16

Hi!  I am linking up with Doodle Bugs Teaching for Five for Friday this week.  I have a lot to share but it's all about the same thing--our 10 year anniversary trip to St. Lucia that we took last week!!

We stayed at the Sandals Grande St. Lucian for 7 nights and it was AMAZING.  We had never been out of the country together so it was an exceptional experience for us both!  This was also our first "All Inclusive" resort vacation.

Packing was fun!  Who doesn't love planning out lots of festive outfits for the Caribbean?  Once we got there, we realized we reaaaalllyy over-packed!  Really, all that we would have needed were a couple swimsuits, pj's, gym clothes, and a fairly dressy outfit for each night.  Things I definitely didn't need that I took with: purses/hair straightener, curling iron, shorts/tanks.

The resort was beautiful.  Everything was so clean and meticulous.  The staff members bent over backwards for us and made sure we had everything we needed during our stay.

We spent our days lying by one of the many pools or beach, sipping cocktails, people-watching, and eating.  Pure bliss.  No schedule.  No worrying about how much everything costs {you pay ahead of time and literally don't need any money with you}.

The food was outstanding!  We loved having options for our meals.  We booked the anytime room service plan, so some mornings we had breakfast in bed or breakfast overlooking the ocean.  For our dinners, we had quite the variety--Indian food, Caribbean food, Asian food, French food, and Italian food.  We even had fresh coconut water and coconut meat {cut down for us by the Sandals landscaping crew}.  The desserts were amazing!  Check out the picture below!  Just one example of the many treats we had!

Halfway through our trip, we took an off-resort excursion.  We took a tour with JJ's Speed Boat Tour. We snorkled, took a hot mud bath {108 degrees to be exact} followed by rinsing off in a cold waterfall {which were both on the middle of the jungle}, drank rum punch, and ate a traditional Caribbean lunch.  It was AWESOME!!!!  If you watch the Bachelor, the mud bath may look familiar...Jake and Vienna anyone?

Who needs a spa when you can get free clay and mud in St. Lucia?!

((((Remember this episode???)))) Jake and Vienna did the mud bath and visited the waterfall behind hit and so did WE!

We also had a catamaran cruise included in our Sandals package.  This was a lot of fun!  It was a two-hour adventure full of music and rum punch!

I'm sad to be home but glad to be back in a routine {if there is such a thing in the summer!}.  This was a once-in-a-lifetime trip that I will always remember!  Have you done a Sandals trip?  I'd love to hear about it in the comments below!

Wow! What an amazing trip! Looks like you had a wonderful time. My husband and I did an all-inclusive in Riveria Maya last year for our honeymoon. It's so nice having everything included and not needing money with you for everything. Enjoy your weekend!
