Sunday 6 February 25

Hi and welcome to the last Sunday 6 in February!  What a quick month it's been!  I'll be sharing 6 random things from my week here.  Feel free to create your own blog post and link up sometime this week!  Just be sure to use my graphics.  Thanks and have a great week!
Monday we did not have school, so we did a few fun activities for President's Day Tuesday!  The kids loved coloring and hunting for sight words in this mini-book.  The book is in my "Mini Book Bundle," which is a wonderful resource to have.  It includes mini-books for all the holidays.  Click below to snag it.

Mr. Wheeler and I went out of town shopping last weekend and I got myself some Hunter boots.  I've been wanting a pair for at least 10 years now and finally bit the bullet!  I went with the short ones in red.  Red is one of my favorite colors.  The winters and spring in Ohio have tons of snow, ice, and rain, so I know I will get my money's worth!

My kids are working on non-fiction (specifically animals) and we've been using my graphic organizers.  We wrote letters last week!  I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these organizers!  They are non-themed, differentiated, and great for any book.  Click below to take a look.

The kids also did some research of their own and got to type a fact or two that they learned on the computer!  We only have 2 computers in our classroom and don't have other technology available, so this was a real treat for them!  They were in awe that I could print out their pages after they typed!  Hahaha!  A generation of phone and table users for sure!

I ordered some new noise-cancelling/shooting headphones for my classroom last week.  I had some previously, but they got broken.  These headphones are phenomenal for those with sensory needs as well as those with ADHD.  They truly work wonders.  They eliminate all the white, background noise and allow students to focus on their work.  The new ones I got are very nice quality.  I've linked them below if you want to snag a pair or two for you room.  I definitely recommend getting at least 2 pair because your kids will want to use them constantly.  If ordering, be sure to clip the 7% off coupon to save more money!

Here's a quick and simple word work/literacy center:  Cut up some black construction paper and add some metallic markers.  Kids can practice writing words from the word wall as well as any other words you're studying.  I put name cards in the center bin and they loved writing one another's names!  Link to the markers is below!

I've been an avid outdoor cyclist for a few years now, but this past Fall I started cycling indoors at my gym.  I take a class 2x a week in the evenings.  Recently, I added on a Saturday morning class and I am in LOVE!  I love getting up early and getting a good 25-30 mile ride in before 9:00.  It's a great way to start the weekend and makes me feel less guilty about eating out!

Have a great week!  Remember you can link up below!

Sunday 6 February 18

Welcome to Sunday 6!  Feel free to create your own blog post, with 6 events from your week (can be non-teaching, too)!  Just use my provided graphics.  Thanks and have a great week!
Last week my student teacher taught a Math lesson reviewing addition and subtraction and she incorporated this bowling game.  She decided to leave it for the kids to play during indoor recess and they loved bowling with the cups as well as making towers!  I like it because it's a quiet alternative to those traditional plastic bowling sets!

I was just getting over the stomach bug in time for Valentine's Day, so Mr. Wheeler and I didn't do much.  He did surprise me with my favorite chocolates (which is all I ever want for Valentine's Day) AND some Sephora gift cards!  Bonus this year!  I got him a puzzle, a Chipotle gift card, and some candy.

I finally uploaded just my "Sentence Rubric" by itself.  It's part of my "Cut, Glue, Write" Sentence Bundle, but many were asking for a separate listing for it.  Click below to get it and be amazed with the sentences your little ones start writing.  Enjoy!

After years fighting with anchor charts everywhere, I finally came up with a solution.  This is a magnetic curtain rod and curtain ring clips.  I love it so much!  I can clip many charts on here and add/remove them as needed.  No more magnets or tape!  No more anchor chart wallpaper in my classroom!  Links to both items are below! *affiliate links*

Last week, Mr. Wheeler's chair broke...the spring in the bottom popped.  It was just an overstuffed chair that we bought to match our basement sectional when we bought our house 12 years ago.  He's sat in it every night (and many days since he works from home often) for all of those years.  We decided it was time for an upgrade!  We are officially old.  We got him this Lazy Boy recliner yesterday!  Needless to say, he is SUPER PUMPED!  It should be arriving this week!

We hit up PF Changs for dinner last night and treated ourselves to drinks because...no school today!  I had a really good organic margarita.  They were celebrating Chinese New Year, so their fortune cookies were red!  So fun.  We haven't been on a date night in a long time!

Enjoy your week.

Sunday 6 February 4

Hi, friends!  Happy Super Bowl Sunday!  Do you watch the big game?  I pretend to, while I read an In Touch magazine and play on my phone.  I'm just here for the food, mostly.  I wanted to let you know that I've switched up the "Saturday Six" to the "Sunday Six!"  I thought maybe more of you would have time to put together a blog post on Saturday and have it all ready for Sunday!  I hope you'll link up!  Just grab the images from my blog post and share six events from your week.  They can be personal or professional.  Enjoy your day!
A sweet follower who was so excited about trying my "Whole Group Class Rewards" pack with her kids sent me these photos last weekend.  I love how she has the rewards organzied in a binder with clear sheet protectors!  And isn't her display the cutest?!?!?!  Check out this great classroom management pack by clicking the cover below.

We are about through our third Fry's Sight Word List on our "Password Board."  This board is a great (and fast) little way to review sight words as your students arrive in the mornings!  Check it out below!

We did some fun Groundhog Day activities on Friday.  I found these adorable cookie bag tags from Crayons and Cuties in Kindergarten.  The kids loved them!  Just add some regular and golden Oreos and you have a fun treat!!

We also colored, assembled, and hunted for sight words in this non-fiction mini-book reader.  The kids enjoyed learning about groundhogs!  Click below to grab it.  The pack comes with two mini-books.

We went to visit my bro, sis-in-law, and niece last night for dinner and ice-cream.  We went to a place called Hot Chicken Takeover and then Jeni's Ice-Cream for dessert.  Do you have a Jeni's Ice-Cream near you?  We love it.  We had a blast last night!
