Hi and welcome to another week of "Sunday 6!"  This is a blog post where I share 6 random happenings from my week. Check out what I was up to last week below!

As many of you know, I love cycling, both indoor and outdoor.  When Rona hit last spring, I stopped going to Cyclebar and began renting a bike from them.  Cyclebar celebrates milestones and I recently hit 250 rides!  I've been on my Cyclebar bike at home 103 times since I stopped going to the studio.  I'm looking forward to going back to the studio soon!!

My kids have been having centers each time they are at school.  They visit centers independently, to allow for social distancing.  This is one of the centers I had last week.  These are my "Winter Parts of Speech" matching cards.

My best friend Alicia and I went to the spa together to celebrate my 40th birthday.  We each got facials and massages.  We had a relaxing day.  It was great to catch up!

 

We have been zooming through Math, in order to get all of the content covered because we are hybrid.  Last week, we focused heavily on related facts.  This organizer was one I found on TPT and it's really helpful for my kids.

One of my favorite art projects of the year is this winter bird project.  I read the book "Snowballs" by Lois Ehlert and then my kids do their project.  I love keeping these projects up all winter!  So sweet.

Sunday 6

Welcome to another edition of Sunday 6.  This is where I share 6 random happenings from my week!  Enjoy!

I turned the big 4-0 this week!  It was a wonderful day full of surprises and fun from start to finish.  Mr. Wheeler surprised me with diamond earrings and cooked me breakfast.  Then once I arrived at school, my friends/teammates had a cinnamon roll and coffee for me.  I received lots of thoughtful gifts.  My students colored a "Happy Birthday" page in my honor (the page was created by a friend and was a surprise).  The staff members in my building all wore black in honor of me!  Hahaha!  Such a special birthday that I will always remember!

We celebrated New Years in class with some special activities.  The "2021" paper activity was quick, easy, and fun.  The kids LOVED making their "Wishing Wands."  All students were thrilled to see ring pops on their desk to "Ring in the New Year!"  To grab the crafts, click HERE and find them linked in my New Years post.

I bundled my best-selling Blending Cards today!  Several of you have asked for a bundle to save some $, so here you go!  The bundle includes all 5 packs of my blending flashcards.  I love these for all sorts of things...Guided Reading, early finisher activities, assessments, and to send home with parents/caregivers for extra practice.  Click the cover to snag the bundle!

Below, I was using them as a game called "Find the Sticker."  To play, place a few flashcards facing outward in a pocket chart.  Hide a sticker behind some of the cards.  Call kids to come up and tap out a word.  Once finished, they can check behind the word for a sticker.  Finding a sticker equals a special prize or piece of candy!  SO easy and FUN!

A new week means new literacy centers!  This week I introduced my CVC Sign Language center to my kids and they did fantastic with it!  They loved trying to "crack the code" and figure out the words.  Grab the resource by clicking the cover below.

I organized all of my "I Have, Who Has" game cards into this rainbow organizer from Michael's.  I purchased some labels from TPT and placed each set of game cards into a box.  I love having all of the games in one spot!

Welcome to another "Sunday 6," where I share 6 random things from my week.  Enjoy!  

My kids have been working hard on subtraction for Math.  We practiced subtraction sentences with chips before we began doing much else.  I think it's so important to teach kids Math skills in a concrete manner first!  We played "Race to the Snacks," a board game, which can be found HERE.  My class loves "Wander and Write" so we did the easiest version of that activity (4 levels included for differentiation).  Grab it HERE.

We read Leaf Man and created a cute Leaf Man craft.  Grab the craft HERE and the book will be linked at the end of my post...perfect for anytime in Fall!

I have centers up and running this year, even in our hybrid model!  I have it set to where only 1 child is at a center at a time.  I'm mostly using my "LEVEL 1 FUNDATIONS PHONICS" centers games, which you can find HERE.  However, I sprinkle a few other activities in as well, such as the rhyming pack shown below.  Grab it HERE.

I'm introducing the Commutative Property the day we get back to school after break so I crated a little game to go with it.  It's called "Switcheroo."  The name goes perfectly with how I introduce this concept!  Grab the game HERE.
