Sunday 6

Hi, friends!  Summer is coming to a close and that means "Sunday 6" is back!  Sunday 6 is a re-cap of my week in the form of photos.  It's 6 random things from my personal life and/or teaching life.  Here are my 6 from this week!
I have been a fan of "Tenzi" (a super fun and fast-paced dice game) for many years.  Over the years, Tenzi has created additional games like "Slapzi," "Itzi," "Pairzi," and most recently, "Buildzi."  Buildzi is hands down my second favorite (Tenzi is my #1!).  Although I haven't personally played Buildzi yet, I took some time to explore it and read the directions.  *There are 3 games in one in this pack.  I love the variations!  I'll explain the basic version of play: 2-4 players are needed.  One person draws a card, and everyone races to build the tower shown on the card.  The first player to build the tower wins!  Buildzi is a perfect game for STEM, spatial reasoning, and cooperative learning.

If you want to check out Buildzi, you can click my Amazon affiliate link HERE.  Enjoy!!!

My best friend Alicia sent me these adorable earrings that she made, along with a card of encouragement for the upcoming school year.  The earrings will be perfect to wear on Friday's!

I recently got a pair of Kwerkwear sneakers for school.  Kwerkwear is a small business that just started this year.  They offer footwear, tote bags, backpacks, and socks for educators, medical professionals, hairdressers, dental professionals, and chefs.  Their designs are available in different colors and skin tones, which I love!

The sneakers I got are super comfortable and lightweight.  I have a lot of foot problems, so I sized up 1/2 size to allow room for my insoles.  I love that Kwerkwear offers free shipping!  For a limited time, all sneakers are 15% off!  If you see something other than sneakers or if you decide to purchase sneakers after the sale has ended, you can use my code, "Wheeler" to save 10%.

Call me weird, but I love to clean!  I recently stumbled across "Go Clean Co" on Instagram.  They are a cleaning company in Canada.  They post lots of deep cleaning videos and product suggestions.  This summer, I've implemented lots of their processes, including their bleach/Tide/water solution.  I have been using it weekly to clean ALL THE THINGS.  It's a simple recipe.  It's recommended you wear gloves and old clothes when dealing with bleach.  I also wear a mask, BECAUSE I HAVE MASKS EVERYWHERE RIGHT NOW.  Sad but true.  It's also recommended that you open your windows for ventilation when cleaning with bleach.

The mixture is as follows:

  • 1/3 cup bleach
  • 1 gallon hot water
  • 1 teaspoon powered Tide detergent

DO NOT MIX ANYTHING ELSE IN THERE

Wipe counter tops, door handles, light switches, walls, etc...with this solution.  I love the way the house smells after I do this!

I stopped at Michael's a few weeks ago and saw that the craft box/photo box cases were $14.99.  I have been looking at these for years and could never justify buying one.  I was never sure what I would use it for.  I decided to pick one up this year and plan on having my kids put their markers into the cases.  This will allow me to wipe them off easily after use, as opposed to keeping the markers in their original paper boxes.  I have heard from a couple people that the latches on these don't hold up super well, so I will be giving my kids a big tutorial on how to use the box and I'll make sure I emphasize the fact that they are not allowed to open and close the latch a bunch of times!

I added a "Math helper page" to my Math Strategies product.  I plan on putting copies of this page into sheet protectors and placing them inside my kids' take home binders/folders.  I always include a number grid in them, but this year, the page will have more on it besides the grid.  Home resources will be extremely important this year, as we are doing a hybrid learning model.  Click the cover below to snag this sheet.
