COVID19 Resources

Hi, friends.  Hope this post finds you healthy.  I know many of you are gearing up for back to school; whether that's remote learning, traditional school, or a blend of both.  We do not start back until September 8 this year.  Our school district changed our school year by extending our school day and we knew it was happening...it was in the works long before COVID hit.  I'm happy that we don't start until a bit later this year, but at the same time, I'm stressed.  Starting later just prolongs the inevitable.

If you know me, you know I am an AVID LOVER OF PICTURE BOOKS!  I love using picture books to teach procedures and routines, holidays, and well....basically anything!  I went hunting for books that I can use to help explain what's going on right now and I found a few gems I want to share with you.  All books are linked below (affiliate links) and I truly appreciate you shopping through my links.  I make a small percentage off of each book purchased.

Wash Your Hands!
This is a great book geared towards little ones (grades k-2) that stresses the importance of hand-washing.  Mrs. Connor's class learns about washing their hands and keeping germs away.

This will go nicely with my FREE Procedures to Teach Checklist (adding hand-washing technique to that for sure this year!) and my Hand-washing Poster, which is included in my Healthy Habits Posters pack on TpT.  Click the covers below to check the book and poster set out.

Germs Make Me Sick!
This book explains how germs spread in a safe and calm way.  Kids will get straightforward information told in an approachable way.  This book is nonfiction and is appropriate for grades k-2.  My Mask Safety Posters make a nice supplemental resource to go with this book.  Click the covers below to check the book and poster set out.

Personal Space Camp
This book is written by one of my favorite authors, Julia Cook.  It addresses the issue of respect for another's personal space...can we say social distancing?!  A MUST-HAVE book for the upcoming school year!

Thank You, Helpers
This new release (June 2020 (is a celebration of all the essential works that help us every day.  A feel-good book that helps students appreciate and cheer for doctors, nurses, teachers (preach!), grocery workers, delivery people, and more!

A Germ's Journey
This book is on my wish list and I hope to get it soon!  Kids and teachers will pack their bags and follow a germ on its journey.  Perfect for explaining the immune system to kids.  Ideal for ages 5-8.

Take care and stay healthy.
