Sunday 6 April 7

Hi!  Happy Sunday and welcome back to another "Sunday 6!"  I was on spring break and in Florida last week, so some of my school happenings posted here are from two weeks ago.  Enjoy!
I have been attending Cyclebar 2x a week (which began in March) and have really enjoyed committing 2 days a week to it.  In the past, I would only go 1 day per week, if I made time.  Cycling is such a great workout and you can't beat the energy that Cyclebar brings!  It's a great stress reliever after a long day at school.

Right before spring break, my kids made these adorable Easter bunnies!  The idea and pattern is from A Dab of Glue Will Do.  You have to sign up for her emails to get the template.  My student teacher mixed up the pastel paint colors for the kids.  I quickly taped the bunnies to the middle of a white sheet of card stock for each child.  The kids chose which color they wanted and made their artwork!  These look so cute in the hallway and were so simple!  You could really do this for any holiday!

The week of spring break we also learned how to tell time to the hour and half-hour.  Below are a few activities that we did.  I love the first activity, "I Spy Time," which is a freebie from What the Teacher Wants.  I have had it for so many years and it's always a hit.  It also makes a fantastic quick assessment!

You can find the next two games/activities by clicking the cover photo of my Telling Time Math Games below!

In addition to telling time, we also learned about non-standard measurement.  I love Miss Giraffe's Math unit for Measurement...so many fun and engaging materials included!  The activities below come from her pack.

I have three friends who are just now beginning to read, and they have been having success with Teaching with Love and Laughter's CvC pack.  The sentence scrambles are especially great for emerging readers!

Like I mentioned above, Mr. Wheeler & I were down in Florida last week for spring break.  It was beautiful, per usual.  We spent our time relaxing by the pool, taking daily walks, shopping, and going out to eat.  The time went so fast!  However, there is always next year to look forward to.

Have a great week!
