Sunday 6 April 29

Happy Sunday!  Hope you have had a wonderful weekend!  I'm back for another "Sunday 6."  Remember that you can participate in Sunday 6  by writing up your own blog post, using my provided images, and linking up!  Have a great week!
I picked up an inflatable tic-tac-toe board from Target Dollar Spot and used it as one of my literacy centers last week.  It was a hit for sure!  I paired it with my Fry's First 100 Sight Word Flashcards.  To play, kids selected 9 words to put into the board.  Then, before they took their turn, they had to read the word and put it into a sentence (orally).  Each round, they replaced the words.  So easy and so fun!  I'm sure I will be putting this center out again in a few weeks!

The hallway outside my room need a little re-vamp.  I had our St. Patrick's Day rainbows up and had intended to leave them up all year, but I was getting sick of them.  We made these spring bugs from Doodle Bugs Teaching.  I love how each one turned out so differently!

We've been reviewing verbs in Reading.  I love the posters included in my Verbs pack!  So handy and a great visual for kids to remember the tenses.  Click below to check the posters out.

Our house was built in 1942.  It's a very small (1,100 sq. ft.) Cape Cod home.  I'm obsessed with it!  We have lived in it for 12 years, and I have had to become very creative with storage solutions because there isn't a lot of storage!  Our lower cabinets are giant black holes!  Deep and no shelves.  When we were at Lowe's last weekend, we bit the bullet and got soft-close wire baskets!  Hooray for shelves!  I have never been so excited to empty the dishwasher!  Best investment ever.  Sure wish we would have done this 12 years ago!

I was at Michael's shopping yesterday and came across this 48 pack of pencils!  It was just $5.00!  These would make great end of the year gifts.  However, my treasure box is looking sparse, so I think I'll be putting them inside of it.

Speaking of end of the year gifts.........the year is about over for us!  24 days!  PTL!  What a year it's been!  I always plan way ahead for holidays, and so it's no surprise that I'm thinking about what to give my kids at the end of the year.  Last year I did these fun water bottles with their names.  I had to purchase their names from someone who had a Cricut.  I'm not sure what I'll do this year.  I'm sure I'll come up with an idea soon!  What do you give your kids?  Comment below and let me know!

You should buy yourself a Silhouette machine and you could cut out the names yourself! Just think of all the things you could use it for in your classroom. I love mine!
