5 for Friday 12.18.15

We made it!!!!!!!!!!!!!  It's officially winter break!  I am linking up with Doodle Bugs Teaching for another 5 for Friday!

We have been working on Bossy R as our Phonics Chunks in class.  We practiced with many different activities, including this ar/or Scoot game, which you can grab below.

I got my kids' Christmas bags ready early this week because I knew it would get busy!  I posted this on FB and people were wondering how much I spent.  Ready for the answer?  $15!  I am always on the lookout for deals.  Here's the breakdown:

  • Books-Free with bonus points from Scholastic
  • Play-Doh-$8.99/36 pack from a deal Amazon had a few weeks ago
  • Neon crayons-8 cents each from Walgreens after the back to school rush clearance
  • Pencils-$1.00 for the bag from a teacher garage sale
  • Erasers-$1.00 for a 12 pack from Dollar Tree
  • Bags-Many I had in my gift wrap box.  The others were 3/89 cents from Kroger.

Because I am a little Christmas obsessed, we worked through our Christmas centers earlier in the month and this past week I relied on some good 'ole handy centers:  sight words and blends.  It was also time to bust out the novelties: play doh and ink pads/stamps.

My hubby and I celebrated Christmas with my side of the family last weekend.  We had a wonderful time!  We have a niece who is 18 months and she is great!  She's talking and playing with everything. It was obvious who was the most spoiled at our Christmas!

We've been crafting IT UP lately!  One of our favorites was Santa's Stuck by Crafy Bee Creations.  You can get it by clicking HERE.  I also made a free writing page which you can grab HERE.

Happy Weekend!

I love your nieces dress! She looks like a doll! And major kudos for those gift bags: cheap, with lots of variety and a Junie B book to boot? I want one!
