Hi! I'm linking up with "Owl-ways Be Inspired" for their "
Show Us How You Use It" linky party! This week's items are craft sticks! My post is short and sweet! You may have seen my behavior management posts
here and
here, which detail how I use a traveling behavior clip system in my classroom. Well, sometimes you have a few kids who just need
what feels like 9,000 a few extra warnings....and for that, I use a large Popsicle stick. I color the stick green, as that's where all of the students begin their days. I divide the stick into 3 parts and label each with a 1,2,3. I put the student's name on a clothespin. Anytime I have to give a warning, the student moves his/her clip on the stick. Once they hit the 3, they know that the next time, they'll be going to the "regular" stick to move their clip down. These minis serve as great visual reminders for students that especially need them. They keep the sticks on their desks and are able to monitor their own behavior. Easy-peasy!

Do they keep these green sticks at their desks, or do you keep them somewhere else? I love this idea!!!!
I love this idea! Do they do 3 warnings every time, or just before they move down the first time?

I love this idea Megan! I always have such a hard time moving my kiddos on the regular chart so early in the day . This is a brilliant way to hold them accountable, be consistent with your classroom behavior plan, but also give these students a chance to stay on green for a little while. :) I bet it helps motivate them to stay on green too. They might feel like this is an attainable goal for them. LOVe this! Thanks for sharing Megan!
Such a great idea! You are a good summer blogger, Megan! xoxoxo
Great idea! Thanks Megan.
This is a great idea! Love the "extra" warnings some of our kiddos need.
Thanks for sharing! :)
