Everything's bigger in Texas! True story! I just returned from a whirl-wind of a weekend with some of my dearest friends from all over the US. We've become close friends over the past year. We text daily, call one another, and talk on Facebook. It's easy for us to be friends because we have so much in common with teaching, blogging, and TpT-ing.
For the bulk of the weekend, it was: Staci from Going Nutty with Miss Squirrels, Jessica from Mrs. Standford's Class, Monica Treasures for Teaching, Michelle from Apples and ABC's, and Hadar from Miss Kindergarten. Kristin from A Teeny Tiny Teacher and Nicole from Rowdy in Room 300 also stopped by for a night.
We met up in Dallas on Friday night. Each of us arrived at different times. We met up at the swanky A Loft Hotel in the Arts District {shutout to Mr. Wheeler for booking this sweetness for us!}.
After a Friday night full of fun and laughs, we headed to bed and were up Saturday to get our day going! We went to lunch, did some shopping, and some got manicures. That evening, we went to a great little Tex-Mex place for dinner and drinks, where we were pampered by our waiter/bar tender, "Carl." Carl hooked us up big time! I think he felt bad for us since we told him we were teachers. Hahaha!
On Sunday, we were exhausted after a long day prior, but made it out to do some sight-seeing. We went to a local cafe for breakfast then hit up a Dallas Trolley Tour {even though we vowed "No Learning" on this trip}. It was a lot of fun! Did you know that Mary Kay began here? How about Frito Lay? 7 Eleven? Chilis? And most importantly, the invention of the FROZEN MARGARITA!
Last night, we culminated our trip with a fancy-schmancy dinner at FiveSixty by Wolfgang Puck. It's a rotating restaurant that overlooks the city. I loved how leisurely the meal was...lots of little courses. Oh, and the cocktails were to.die.for. We were enjoying our waiter, who looked like Ryan Gosling. *The picture does not do him justice. Staci made a little movie showing the restaurant moving! Watch the green arrow!
It was sad to say our goodbyes, but we knew we'd see each other again next year! Goodbye, Dallas!
