Christmas Randomness

Hi everyone!  Today we have a snow day so I am off school and working.  I was looking through my phone and noticed that I have tons of random pictures.  I thought I'd share them with you today!

We decided to skip putting up our large tree in our house because it's gigantic.  And our house is not.  And every year we have to remodel the whole entire house to fit the tree in our living room.  Nuff said.  We also put up a little mini-tree in our basement.  This year, to my surprise, the mini-tree shown below appeared, in a box, in our Christmas room.  I have no recollection of buying it and have no idea where it came from.  That's when you know that you have too many Christmas decorations.  I do love this tree, though!  It's very full and pre-lit.  Although my house has been decorated since November 1, my husband does not like the tree to be up before Thanksgiving.  Since he puts up with all the other decorations, I give him his way on the tree.  We decorated it on Wednesday while watching the Rockefeller Center tree lighting.  We also enjoyed some egg nog and Candy Cane Joe Joe's {anyone else a fan of these from Trader Joe's?}.  These cookies are seriously amazing.

In other news, a Magic Elf made an appearance in our classroom!  He came as a "Special Delivery" from the North Pole in a shiny, gold package!!!

The kids were obsessed with looking at him all day and telling one another, "He moved his eyes!" {even though he didn't...}  I caught three students having an adorable conversation about the Magic Elf right before dismissal the other day.  "Do you think he will fly away?"  "Maybe if we shut our eyes and don't look."

We've been knee-deep in all sorts of Christmas-themed activities, like literacy and Math centers, sentence edits, and a craft.  Everything is hyper-linked if you'd like to check them out!

We had a snow day today, too! I wish we had a Trader's Joes here in Tulsa.
