Hi! I hope everyone had a great week! It sure went by quickly! I worked extra efficient this week. I told myself I was leaving by a certain time every day so I could get to the gym. I stuck to my plan all but 1 day. Not too shabby! I was shocked at how much extra time I had at home, but of course my evenings were all consumed with school stuff. Dang. After 10 years, you would think I could find a balance but I just can't. Do you have that problem, too? Mini-steps, I guess...One thing I have been keeping up on is center prep. I pull stuff out ahead of time and put it into either a Math tub or Lit center basket. When it's time to prep centers, I just pull from there. I am constantly making/laminating/copying, but it keeps me ahead.

Next week we only have 4 days so I will have to carry over centers for one day into the following week. Now, onto Lit Centers! These are always evolving from year to year, to fit the needs of my students and the building schedule. This year, I pretty much run them the same as last year. Read more about how I run them by reading this post. I have just found that trying to hold reading groups at the same time is too chaotic. I run my reading groups during Silent Reading. I run Lit Centers for about 20 minutes. I do them Monday through Thursday because Friday is busy with our Spelling Test and Fun Friday. I have a few kids that do not attend Lit Centers because they are receiving intense intervention.

Sound like you and I were on the same page. I decided I was going to quit staying at school so late. I didn't do as well as you, but the days we went home (my daughter goes to my school) early, it was so wonderful. Sad to say, I like you was still working on school stuff but at least it was in the comfort of my own home.n I found that when I was staying at school late, I was doing a lot of talking to other people, not working in my room. I also agree with you on getting the centers prepped, my days just goes sooo much better when I do it.

It does seem like our work is never finished! This is my 21st year & I always think- what am I doing wrong? I stay pretty much every night till 5 & then work some more at home. Darn TPT- that has made me work more- haha. I actually love teaching this way- it's so much more creative & fun. Thanks for all your great products! Carol
