Leaf Man Freebie

Hi everyone! I am linking up with The Teacher's Treasure Chest for a Fall Book Linky.  I just love picture books.  I have an obsession.

My favorite Fall book is Leaf Man by Lois Ehlert.  It's so cute!  The kids absolutely love it, too!  Each year, we read a poem and make our own leaf men.  I send home a letter and a gallon ziplock bag. The kids collect things from nature that they'd like to use to create with.  They get their animal laid out how they want on their papers and then I hot glue the materials down.  It's a big hit!  If you'd like the poem and parent letter, click here!

I just love that idea! A great way to encourage creativity! Will have to check out that book-I'm familiar with her, but not that title.

Those leaf man people are so cute and creative. I really appreciate how you involve the family in this project. I'm off to the library tomorrow to see if I can get my hands on a copy of this book. Thanks for sharing!

I love this book too! I have a question about your book bins - where did you get them and do you like them? I am getting ready to revamp my entire library. I am trying to figure out what bins will work best and then I need to create labels. Yikes - a lot of work, but it will be very worth it when I am done!
