Writing Workshop Start up Kit!

It's Thursday...meaning another week is almost over...meaning BTS time is coming...Ahhhhhhh!! I knew once I got back from vaca, summer would fly!  It's a cloudy, dreary day here and I must confess: I have sort of been wanting one of these days so I can do my yearly "file organization."  Do you guys do it? I started it a few years ago when we purchased an external hard drive.  I take it to school in May, upload all my work files onto it, and then during the summer months, go through and delete things I didn't use, file stuff from my home computer, etc...Lord knows there are files everywhere on this blogger's computer systems!!!  In the fall, I take it back to school, and upload the new set of files.  It makes me feel super organized.

If you have been following me since the beginning of my blogging adventures (2010), you would know that I heart teaching writing workshop!!! It's my fave! I have received great feedback about my non-fiction and poetry packs.  I've received lots of inquiries about how I setup and run my writing workshop...thus the creation of the following:

I got up a little early today because I wanted to FINISH my Writing Resource Pack. I did it! I have been working on this all summer!  It's geared towards first grade, but a second grade room could definitely use it as well! It's chocked full of 70+pages of writing resources to get a workshop started in your classroom. Check it out! What are you doing today?? Is it rainy where you live?

Hi! I just wanted to tell you that your blog was one of the first I ever found as a baby blog stalker (and later as a first year teacher. struggling with how to teach my first graders to love writing, your writer's workshop ideas helped me so much!)
Also - I wanted to personally thank you for helping me in my job interview last week, I did a demo lesson and the panel LOVED the 5 finger retell - another treat I found on your blog!
I have started blogging myself, as I hope to pay it forward, thank you for all you do!
<3 Laura

Ps. I got the job!
