Sunday 6 May 17

Hi everyone, and welcome back to another "Sunday 6."  This is a compilation of 6 random happenings from my week!  Enjoy!!

I received my April Kindergarten Crate recently.  The box was centered around spring/planting.  Below are the items that were included.  If you aren't familiar with the KC, it's a monthly subscription box for teachers that always contains a picture book, materials for several ELA and Math activities (printables included!), and a teacher gift (or two!).  You can purchase one month of the KC or a year subscription.  It makes a great gift for an Early Childhood Education graduate or new teacher.  Boxes are available for pre-k, kindergarten, and first grade.  Use code "WHEELER" at checkout to save $10 off your box.

The Starbucks near my house opened up recently!  Of course I had to stop in (mobile order) to get my iced coffee!  I hadn't had it in 8 weeks and it was just as I remembered!  Delicious!

I have been doing a decent amount of cleaning and organizing on the evenings and weekends.  I organized my printing materials in my office closet,  I bought the boxes shown below (affiliate link) and purchased the labels HERE from TPT.

Mr. Wheeler is re-doing our kitchen floor.  I have mentioned before that we live in a very old house.  It was built in 1940.  We both love it so much!!  The "little projects" that we do always turn into larger ones, because of unexpected findings!  When Mr. Wheeler went to tear out our old floor, there were 5 layers of flooring!  It took him several days to tear all of it out.  We are now ready to tile, and he will be working on it soon!  I am lucky to have such a handy husband who can do these projects.  He saves us a lot of money!

Mr. Wheeler and I drove to see my mom (and dad!) for Mother's Day last weekend.  They live about an hour and a half away from us.  We haven't seen them since the first of January, because they go to Florida for the winter.  Soon after they got back, the pandemic started.  My mom was thrilled!  We kept our distance and visited for about 45 minutes.

I packaged  up my kids' end of the year "gifts" last week.  They definitely look different this year.  I wanted to do something that I could mail and wouldn't cost me a bunch in postage.  I went with a bookmark (linked below), a hand-written note (cards from Doodle Bugs Paper), a custom coloring page, and about 6-8 pictures that I had taken of the kids throughout the year.  *I print pictures off and post them in my classroom all year long.  I ended up spending about 70 cents per child on postage.  The cost of the envelopes I bought was $7.00.  So in total, I spent around $20.00.  Which is not bad.  I usually give my kids a book and a few other things, but I really wanted to avoid hand-delivering gifts to them.
