Summer Reading

Hi!  Today I'm linking up with Lucky To Be in First for a Summer Reading Linky!  I am glad I found this because I was actually going to make a linky for this.  It was on my "end of year to-do list." Needless to say, it didn't get done!  But that means less work for me!  Yay!

I've been working hard on getting my Growing Guided Reading Bundle finished for you guys, so summer reading has been non-existent but I WILL read a few books this summer eventually!  I was an avid reader before blogging and TpT.  I swear now I have the attention span of a gnat.............So without further ado, here are my recommendations as well as books I plan on reading this summer.

Books You Should Read:  Anything and everything by Emily Giffin.  I love her books!  Anything and everything by Sophie Kinsella...the Shopaholic Series.  I read these in college.  Back when I was that avid reader I talked about above.  Her books are so fun!  The Rosie Project was my book club book in April and I loved it!  I seriously couldn't put it down.  The Next Step in Guided Reading is an excellent professional development book.

Books I Want To {and WILL} Read:  Sophie Kinsella has a new Shopaholic book!!!!!!!!!!!  I bought it the minute I saw it at Target a few months ago.  I've been saving it for summer!  Goodnight June is a book that I chose for our May book club but then I didn't read it.  That happens often.  Whoops. Emily Giffin has a book that I somehow missed a few years ago, so I ordered it and plan to read it soon.  The three Reading books below are ones I snagged from the Scholastic Book Fair.  All look like good professional reads.

Happy Reading!

Book Whisperer is great..I read most of it in an afternoon. Sadly in Australia, Scholastic doesn't give us the same availability of professional reading books.

Don't you just love Emily's books. I think I'd get along with Rachel pretty well in the Something series :) The Book Whisperer has been on my list too - totally forgot about that book!

I read Shopaholic to the Stars. it was pretty good, I liked the earlier ones a bit more! Wait til you get to the end. I have a pile of about ten books to read! I have one more week of school - but I already started my summer reading!

I also love the Shopaholic books! You will LOVE the Book Whisperer and Reading in the Wild - both are phenomenal resources and I found myself nodding along throughout the texts!
