#springteacherbloggermeetup2015

Two weeks ago, I had the privilege of heading to French Lick, Indiana for a blogger meet up.  I was a little apprehensive about going because none of my really close friends were attending.  I "knew of" many bloggers who were going but hadn't met more than a few in real life.  I stepped outside of my comfort zone and went alone and am SO glad that I did!   I decided to go kind of last minute, so most people had roommates.  Luckily, Jessica, Melissa, and Brittany took me in!  *Thanks so much, girls!

I headed out Friday afternoon with my Sbucks iced-tea in hand  I arrived Friday night after a LONG 5.5 hour drive.  My GPS was a bad girl and took me through the country roads.  Yes, horses and buggy country roads.  It may have also been pouring rain. Awesome combo.  I was just driving along and Bam!  It was like Disney World appeared out of nowhere!  These huge signs for French Lick were all around me as I drove up to the resort.  I quickly checked in and went up to my room to meet my oh-so-sweet roomies!  They are three of the nicest girls!

We decided to head down for dinner and saw lots of other bloggers who also joined us!  Dinner was fantastic and I had such a great time meeting new friends.  Staci from Simpsons Superstars was so sweet and hilarious!  I also loved meeting Mr. Greg from The Kindergarten Smorgasboard.  We shared a lot of laughs!  I am now realizing that I barely took pictures Friday night.  Probably because I was a nervous wreck.  #hopenobodycouldtell

Saturday morning we were up and at 'em to get ready for the main event.  We had a wonderful lunch full of chatting and sharing tips and tricks.  There was a Q & A session, a little team-building activity, a gift exchange, a business card exchange, and the distribution of lots of fantastic SWAG!  For the gift exchange, we had to bring one of our favorite teacher tools.  I brought the game "Tenzi" {because it's the bomb} and some dark chocolate.  I received a little Handwriting Fairy pack as my gift.  So fun!

I had the pleasure of sitting with some very influential people in education:  Deanna Jump, Deedee Wills, and Kim Adsit.  They were so kind to let me sit with them.  They are a hoot!  Kim's daughter, Megan and her daughter-in-law, Ginny were also there, and they are both super nice!

I was pumped to meet Mel from Seusstastic Classroom Inspirations!  She is so sweet and cute!

Here are my roomies!  Left to right, Jessica, Melissa, me, and Brittany.  Love them!

I mentioned the swag above...I was so excited to see all the goodies that were donated by some AWESOME companies!!!!  We each got to take home amazing things including goodies from Scentos, Creative Teaching Press, Go Noodle, Vera Bradley, and Erin Condren!  Can you believe the great things that these companies donated?!?!?!?!?  Thank you SO MUCH!

After all of the day excitement was over, we took a break and met up later for a pajama party!  How fun is that?!  The room we had our lunch in was transformed and it was awesome!  There was pizza, cookies/brownies, GoNoodle/dancing, pillow case decorating, a photo booth, and lots of fun and laughter!  We even had fun t-shirts!  Thank you so much to GoNoodle and Teachers pay Teachers for sponsoring our pj party!!!

It was sad to say our goodbyes, but I know I'll see more of these great people in the future.

Thank you so much to Brittany and Holly for planning such a great event!  You did a fabulous job, ladies!  Can't wait until next year!!  Thank you, Brenda, for hosting this linky!!!
