Five for Friday 1.9.15

Hi everyone!  I'm linking up with Doodle Bugs Teaching for a quick 5 for Friday!  It was an uneventful week, since I only worked Monday and today due to snow and wind chill.  Did you have any days off due to weather this week?

I've been hitting the gym despite the weather and eating MUCH better now that the holidays are over. The phrase below is true for me.  Yikes!

I spent snow day #2 organizing my Christmas closet.  I keep it extremely organized but as the holiday season goes on, I chuck stuff in there in a fury because, well, that time of year is BUSY!  I always re-organize it prior to putting my decor away {which I haven't done yet}.  I forgot to take an after photo but I will have on that next week's 5 for Friday!

Report cards are due Monday.  I haven't started.  I have had 3 snow days and didn't start.  #failure  I did do some grading.  I was happy to have my Math Quick Checks to use for grade cards since our Math section doesn't align with our new program that we are piloting {or CCSS for that matter}. Doing Math grades is always a big pain in the butt.  They are less painful with my quick checks.

I worked on 2 new products this week:  Fry's First 200 Fluency Strips and CvC Fluency Strips.  I am super excited to print these and use them next week!  They are great for centers, guided reading, RTI, and/or parent volunteers/tutors!!!  Kids read the strips 3 times and color/mark an X at the bottom after they've read each one.  I'm working on more sets of these this weekend!  Hooray!

We made Just Wild About Teaching's fun New Years craft on Monday!  We brainstormed some resolutions together and the kids picked a few to write.  I love how they turned out!

Have a great weekend!

Ha! I wait to the last minute to do my report cards too! It's funny how many things pop up that I HAVE to do before I can get those report cards done! As long as they get done in time, that's my motto. I hope they are quick and painless for you!
