I love Johnny Appleseed Day! I can't believe it is a week from today. Johnny Appleseed Day reminds me that we are inching towards Halloween....and that means CHRISTMAS IS AROUND THE CORNER! HOORAY! {ok, major sidebar there!} We will be spending Thursday doing some fun activities from my pack. We will also start our September sentence edits next week, which contain some Johnny and apple sentences!
Although I don't teach in thematic units but do like to teach my kids about Johnny! I made this little ditty, "Hooray for Johnny Appleseed Day" to do just that. It's easy on the color ink, which I love! Included are: ABC order cards, a Johnny Appleseed mini-book, coloring pages, differentiated writing paper, and a sentence sort.
