Hello, everyone! I have been absent from blogging this weekend because I have a bad cold and have been in bed. Booo....anyhow I wanted to share a fun little math idea with you involving the little plastic heart boxes pictured below:
Begin by using a sharpie and numbering each box (you can decide how many boxes you want for your center). Place various amounts of coins inside the boxes. Place boxes and recording sheets/pencils in a math tub. Students take turns pulling hearts, counting coins inside, recording the amount, and repeating until they have counted the coins in each box. Easy and fun! Let me know if you like this and are going to use it in your classroom!
