End of the Year Books

I have a whole pile of "end of the year" books that I always love sharing with my students.  However, this year, those books have been shared via Zoom calls.  I wanted to take a moment to share with you my favorite end of the year books, in case you want to share them remotely with your students, get them for your own children at home, or simply add your collection at school.  A few are available on Amazon, and the others are available on Scholastic.

Last Day Blues
If you've read or have First Day Jitters, then Last Day Blues is a must!!  This book is written by the same author.  Mrs. Hartwell's class worries that their teacher will miss them during the summer, and they come up with a plan to ensure she won't be too sad.  The surprise is on them when Mrs. Hartwell and the other teachers in the school have a plan of their own!  I love how both First Day Jitters and Last Day Blues have surprise endings!

The Night Before Summer Vacation
This is a story about a little girl and her family getting ready to go on vacation.  They are trying to pack everything they need, but something (or someone) will most likely be forgotten!  You'll have to read the book to find out what or WHO was forgotten!

And Then Comes Summer
Kids will get excited about summer with this cute tribute to it!  I love the illustrations in this book!  Click HERE to grab it from Scholastic Books.

Summer Days and Summer Nights & Sweet Summer
Both of these stories celebrate the wonders of summertime.  Summer Days and Summer Nights is a story about a little girl who sets out on a journey to explore the world around her.  Grab the 2-pack here from Scholastic Books.

Hello Summer!
This book has beautiful photographs of children celebrating summer.  I love that they've included pictures of children from multicultural backgrounds.  Grab the book here from Scholastic Books.

This year, I added two more to my collection.  I am looking forward to sharing them with my students next spring.  They are linked below.
