My Heart Belongs to You: Scoot Game

One week from tomorrow is Valentine's Day! I used to kinda hate it but recently I have become obsessed!  I think all the blogs and pinterest have done this to me.  My hubby and I don't do much other than go to dinner.  I only ask for a small box of chocolates from pretty much the best chocolate place on the planet, Esther Price.  It's local to Dayton, Ohio.  I highly recommend you try this candy asap!  Do you celebrate Valentine's Day? What do you and your sweetie do if so?

We've been doing lots of fun things in class to get ready for Vday.  One game that I made and have done with my kids for several years now is "My Heart Belongs to You."  It's played like Scoot.   To make, you print off the word cards that are provided, fold them and put one in each heart shaped box (found at Dollar Tree, Target, etc...).  I play music ("Love Shack" is a goodie!!) and have the kids walk the room.  When the music stops, they stop at a desk that has a box on it, open the box, and write the word on the provided recording sheet.  I sprinkle the boxes around my room and sometimes will copy the recording sheet front to back if we are going to play for a long time.  Click the title page picture below to snag a copy for free!

  4. I've never been big into celebrating Valentine's Day, but I love celebrating with my firsties! They are so sweet and innocent! They get excited over a little card. This year I'm a little afraid though - too much love in my class!
