Helloooo! I hope everyone is having a great weekend! I have received a few requests/questions regarding my daily schedule so I am going to post about it. It's hard to fit everything in, but I do my darnedest! I try to stick to a schedule, but with tons of kids coming and going for RTI everyday, it's difficult. My team and I are working hard to start integrating based on holidays/themes so that we will free up more time and things will all be cohesive. Our first attempt at planning integrated holidays around the world went well. I'll be teaching those this week, so we will see how it goes!
8:00-8:20 Arrival, Morning Work (Have you seen Kelley's amazing morning work...??? We are working on the December Math and December Reading now.)
8:20-9:00 Specials (Yikes! It's tough at the beg of the year getting kids around in 20 min but they have it now!) & Restroom Break
9:00-9:30 Morning Message and Read Aloud (for more info on my morning message, click here. I will be doing another updated morning message blog post this week.)
9:30-10:00 Phonics (I do the Phonics Dance and poems from the books shown below. This is also a time where I do reading skills (story maps, character traits, etc...I alternate days to get it all in) Click here to learn more about how I use poetry in my classroom.
10:00-10:30 Literacy Tubs (for more information on these, click here. I usually print out things from various center packs that I have made or purchased for literacy tubs). Right now, we are working on things from my Sweet Christmas Centers pack.
10:30-11:00 Silent Reading and Reading Groups
11:00-11:20 This time I try to keep open for catch-up. I have a lot of kids leaving during this time for RTI and more reading groups.
11:25-12:10 Lunch, Recess, Junie B. Jones, Restroom Break
12:10-12:20 Handwriting or Grammar (We worked on Handwriting earlier in the year. Currently, we are working on my Daily Sentence Edits. The kids looove them!
12:20-1:00 Writing Workshop (I have a lot of blog posts about how I run and manage this...so look under "Writing Workshop" to see more. If you are interested in my resources and lesson plans, click the picture below. It's a bundled pack of what I have in my store. You can also buy each item individually.
1:00-1:50 Math & Math Tubs I like to assess my students using the half sheets from my assessment pack shown below. I do one-two a week. Click the pic to check it out!
2:00 Dismissal!
That's it in a nutshell! Crazy and busy day! I hope this helps!

Oh my! I don't know how you fit it all in. We start at 8:10 and dismiss at 3:37 and I have a hard time fitting it all in! Thank you for sharing your schedule and some of the materials you use during that time. It is always nice to see how things go in other schools. Liz in South Dakota
