Sorry!

We review sight words, word family words, and word chunks using Popsicle sticks and "Sorry" cups.  For this simple game, just grab a word list, some cheap cups {I got mine at the Dollar Tree a few years ago}, a paint pen, Popsicle sticks, and a Sharpie.  Write the word "SORRY" on each cup using the paint pen {Sharpie scratches off}.  You want to have enough cups so that your class can play in partners or small groups.  Write the words you want the kids to review on the Popsicle sticks with your Sharpie.  Write the word "SORRY" on 2 of the sticks.  Make enough sets of sticks for partners or small groups.  Put each set of sticks in a cup.  To play, kids take turns drawing a stick and reading the word it says in a sentence aloud.  If they get the "SORRY" stick, they have to put all their sticks back in the cup!  Easy-peasy!
