Green Fleet Bicycle Tour! Read below to hear more... |
We started summer out by attending a Ke$ha and Pitbull concert in Auburn Hills, Michigan. It was pretty much awesome. I particularly loved Ke$ha...I know a lot of people don't like her but I do think she is talented. She has such a unique voice... Have you heard her acoustic version of"Die Young?" That confirmed to me that she can sing! While in Michigan, we ate at a fantastic pizza place called "Buddy's." It was super good. I got a great Greek salad and then we shared a pepperoni pizza. The crust was so buttery and delicious! There's a reason they are ranked the #1 restaurant for Auburn Hills on Trip Advisor.
While in Michigan, we hit up our favorite breakfast place, "Afternoon Delight." Be sure to get there early because there's always a wait! They have an extensive breakfast and lunch menu. I've never had anything bad there! My favorite things there are the "Veggie Morning Delight" egg sandwich and the "Cappuccino Delight" drink.
Here I am acting like an idiot before the concert |

A little collage of our trip! |
So back to the Nash trip...while there we did some fun things. We first went to our favorite little gem of a restaurant, "Puckett's Grocery and Restaurant." It's always amazing. We go to the one in Franklin but there are more locations throughout Nashville! Be prepared to eat heavy, Southern cuts! I decided to go all out with some fried chicken {pictured below}!! We also visited the Opryland Hotel and had dinner at Solorio, which was awesome but pricey. Their made-fresh guac was ridiculous. We needed to work off some of the food we ate while in Nash, so we booked a sweet bike tour from "Green Fleet Bicycle Tours." This was the highlight of our trip! We met downtown at the bike bus {shown below} and geared up for a 3 hour, 10 mile bike tour of Nashville. It was so much fun! Austin, the owner and our tour guide was great! He showed us parts of Nash that we've never seen before. He also took us by some pretty sweet places like the American Pickers shop and the Nashville Farmer's Market. The time passed by so quickly; we didn't even feel like we were getting exercise! This tour is a must-see for anyone visiting Nashville. Thanks, Green Fleet!
Our 6 days in Nashville came to an end and we were sad to go but we left knowing we'd be back again soon!
Here we are on our wedding day circa 2006! |

I had planned a trip to Colorado, but the airlines goofed me up and didn't seem to be willing to make it right ;( BOOOO....nonetheless, the hubs and I will be going to New Orleans for a getaway to celebrate our anniversary. There's always fun in the Big Easy :) I can't wait to go to the Zoo especially. Gonna be HOT but they have so many amazing animals. I want to go to Nashville one day. I've heard it's a grand place to visit--probably a little fast paced for this old lady, but still a wondeful place to culturize (I know that's not a word, but it sounded good! haha!!). Thanks for the shares. Great pics--love the bus! pcolagal1963@gmail.com

Fun in Room 4B
We are headed to a lake in Maine with the hubby's family for a week in August and then turning around and spending a week at the beach on the Cape with my family! Can't wait!!!
ReplyDeleteWe are on our way home to SW Florida. We spent all week at a rental home on a creek in Hiawassee, Georgia. The North Georgia mountains are beautiful! It was our first time using VRBO.com to book a rental home and we had a great experience. We had the best pizza at a place in Hiawassee called Big Al's Pizza. They have a deck you can sit on with great mountain views. On our way back home we had lunch at The Soda Fountain Cafe in Cleveland, Georgia. I had a Georgia Burger.....holy YUM! It's a burger with cheese, grilled peaches and onions. So good and unusual. We also went to Babyland General and my daughter adopted her first Cabbage Patch doll. On our last day we did some gem mining. That was fun! Lots of fun and great memories on this vacation.

Love your pictures! I should be heading to California and maybe even the mountains of NC
ReplyDeleteMy summer (Vacation)plans consisted of my trip to Tulum, Mexico for my daughter's wedding. The trip was actually the end of May but a great way to start the summer!
ReplyDeleteWe just got back from Europe! We're heading to Las Vegas next weekend for the long weekend.
ReplyDeleteI wish I had more time I travel. We always do it during breaks now, and can't get enough of it!
My family went to Myrtle Beach right when school was out. It was beautiful and relaxing. I wish I could have stayed for the entire summer!
ReplyDeleteWe went all out on a trip to Walt Disney World and Sea World in Orlando! I often felt as excited as our seven year old daughter!
ReplyDeleteWe are visiting Wisconsin so our family can meet our new baby, Finnley! :)
ReplyDeleteI am spending the summer at home, but my niece and nephew are here for two weeks and a month, respectively. I would love to visit Nashville...maybe I should just do it!

Oh, love Buddy's! We have a bunch of family mini trips planned! We went to Cedar Point on Wednesday and are headed to Kalahari on Monday! We will be in Holland (Michigan) for our MSU Family weekend in July. In August, we will be in Port Austin for the weekend and Oscoda on Cedar Lake for a week! We are also going to try to fit in a quick trip to Chicago to hit the American Girl Store!
ReplyDeleteBecause I just gave birth to my first baby five weeks ago, part if me says I'm not going on any trips this summer (including the family trip to Yosemite that was planned before I got pregnant....) but then the other part of me says every place you go with a newborn is a trip in and of itself because of the time it takes and bags you have to pack and take with you!

Wow looks lie you've had an amazing two weeks! I've never been to Nashville but have always wanted to visit. What are your recommendations for must see/do activities? So I'm a little curious (ok nosy maybe) but you mentioned that you'd have to take a huge paycut to move to Nashville. Is that because the cost of living is much cheaper there? I'm always amazed by how different parts if our country vary so much in terms of cost of living. Hope you're enjoying Florida! I'm looking forward to spending a week at the lake in July. :-)

So glad you've had a great summer vacation so far! I'm at the beach right now. The weather is yucky, but it's the beach! We'll have fun no matter what!
