Here's a quick and simple activity for practicing phrases...
Materials:
Directions:
Write out phrases on chart or sentence strips. Call out a specific word you would like for students to find in the phrase. They will write the word on their slates. Invite one student to come up and "butter" the word that you said.
Simple!!

- Chart paper or sentence strips
- Pocket chart (if using strips) or easel (if using chart paper)
- Markers
- Highlighter tape or yellow marker
- Dry-erase slates
- List of Fry's phrases
