Election Day

With Election Day upon us, here are some ideas for you to use in your classroom.  I like to keep it short and sweet for my first graders.

Election Day Activities:

• Have various opportunities for voting throughout the day (where you will read a story, what song you will sing, what game you will play, etc...) and as you do these, vary the types of voting
• Pencil/paper ballot or Pre-made ballot
• Popsicle stick voting
• Voting with your feet (ex: Students who want to sing "Bear Hunt," stand over by the sink.  Students who want to sing "Bubble Gum," stand on the rug, etc... 
• Give students an "I Voted Today" badge!
