Sunday 6 November 18

Happy Sunday and welcome to another edition of "Sunday 6" with Mrs. Wheeler's First Grade!
Last Sunday, I met my parents for lunch and a little holiday festival.  We attend every year and it's always great fun!  I live about 75 minutes South of my parents.  Our halfway point is where the holiday festival is, so we meet there often!

I'm officially on Thanksgiving break for the whole week!  Woo Hoo!!  No alarms for the next 9 days!

I made the most delicious chicken enchilada soup last weekend!  The recipe is from Hungry Girl.  Her website/magazines seriously have the best recipes!!!!!!!  Get the soup recipe here.

We did a few Pilgrim Day activities last week...not as many as I'd hoped to do; curriculum decided to come visit and since Pilgrim Day isn't part of our boxed, one-size-fits-all curriculum, I didn't want to do a bunch with it with them in my room.  *Do you sense my bitterness?  I fit in: playing "naughts and crosses," writing on chalkboards for Fundations, telling jokes, and a mini-book.

On Friday, we had our "Charlie Brown Thanksgiving feast" tradition!  I made the kids toast, gave them popcorn, pretzel sticks, and jelly beans.  This is always a hit...especially when they see the same food in the movie!!!  Grab the DVD below.  This would make a great Tuesday or Wednesday activity if you have to work next week!!

I've included a direct link below if you're looking for a few Thanksgiving resources to use next week in your classroom!  Just click the image to check them all out.  Have a wonderful holiday!  See you next week!
