Sunday 6 July 8, 2018

Hi, friends!  I'm a few weeks behind on Sunday 6 so I am playing catch up now!  Hopefully I'll be back on track with the weekly Sunday 6 from here on out!  Please feel free to LINK UP BELOW if you have your own blog and would like to share highlights from your week or summer!!!  Just link back to my blog and use my "Sunday 6 images."
I have been busy since we got back from Florida!  It's always catch-up the few days after returning from vacation!  When I got home, I had this waiting in the mail for me:

It's a fun whiteboard eraser that was sent to me by its creator!  I am so excited to try this in my classroom.  It's a great size, fits on my hand like a mitt, and the best part of all.......it's machine washable!  I am so looking forward to that, because at least twice a year, I have to buy new dry erase erasers for my white board.  If you'd like to grab one for yourself, here's a link:

I got a new car right before Florida but didn't get to drive it because we flew down.  Since I've been back, I've been enjoying Sirus XM radio!  My hubby has it in his car and I always love listening to the news and the other fun stations.  I was looking forward to trying it myself.  Honestly, I wasn't sure how much I'd use mine, but...I am obsessed!  It's the best!  I am loving the news channel, "The Hits" channel, and "90's on 9."  I was born in the early 80's so the 90's songs were my jr. high-high school jams!  It's been so much fun listening to them and singing right along!

In the summer, I really focus on the gym.  During the school year, it's still a focus, but I don't go 7 days a week like I do during my time off.  I've been working with a personal trainer all summer and I don't like to use a locker at my gym (takes too much time to do all that!).  They have cubbies out in the open for us to use, which is what most people do.  I picked up this great pouch from Stella and Dot to hold my keys, phone, gum, tissues, etc...while I am training.  The fabric is so soft and the pouch is the perfect size for the gym.  They also have a coordinating bag, but I haven't splurged on it yet!  To check out the pouch, click HERE.

A very large chunk of my summer has been dedicated to creating some new units for the upcoming school year!  My district adopted "Fundations" for Phonics.  It's a fabulous program, however, it's a little too dry for my liking.  I have been working all summer on supplemental game/activity packs to go with the program.  The program has 14 units (1 unit is a cumulative review).  Right now, I've completed packs to go with the first 7 units.  Each pack contains 3-4 activities/games that can be used right along with the program or they can be used as a spiral review in literacy centers (that's my plan for them).  If you'd like to check out the growing bundle, I've linked it below.  It's on sale and the price goes up each time I add a unit.  I plan to have all units completed by the fall.

Sample activities shown below!

The new Creative Teaching Press catalog arrived!  I just love their stuff!  To check the catalog out online, click HERE!

Mr. Wheeler ordered the new, tiny Nintendo for us since we both had one in the 80's.  It was fun playing Mario Bros. last week, but man, I was a little rusty for sure!  Those old controllers take some getting used to!

Have a great week!  Link up 6 random things from your week if you'd like!  Link up tool is below!
